I have been drawing since I could hold an art implement. My teachers in elementary and high school frequently scolded me for doodling in class - the truth is that my brain can't focus if my hand isn't drawing something. Mysterious people, funny animals and weird places populate my head and they seem to want to get out there on paper, so who am I to try to stop them? I graduated with a degree in Studio Art from Reed College in Portland, OR and have continued my art education with many classes in new techniques since then. I currently reside in Seattle, WA in a little purple craftsman cottage perilously surrounded by a wall of Sleeping Beauty quality climbing roses. I share my home with a computer programmer and gaming geek husband, five cats (anyone want a free Siamese?) and a ruckus of domestic rats. I am the creator of the You Oughta Know weekly comic strip and have worked for Windstorm Creative on their young adult book covers. I run my own small greeting card business, Those Bad Girls Greetings, and am currently at work illustrating a children's book by Victoria Garcia. I also work part-time at a Seattle teen and young adult drop-in center where I realize every day just how totally out of touch with the current and hip I am. I enjoy reading, comic books, miniature golf, film, quality iPod time, Veronica Mars, CSI and breeding and showing fancy rats. But most of all, I like drawing! I am currently available for freelance illustration or
cartooning projects.
